Examples of the Scope of Work

RTPI National Planning Award 2009 for Arts, Culture and Sport: Moira Hankinson has advised on many large-scale projects - perhaps most notably gaining planning permission at appeal for the Eton College Rowing Lake - now the Dorney Lake venue for the 2012 Olympic rowing and canoeing events.

Employment: Moira lead the HDA team advising on landscape aspects of the proposed Inland Port close to the East Coast Main Line railway at Rossington, Doncaster.


University of Reading Science and Innovation Park:

Green Infrastructure: The former Government proposed the creation of two new National Parks in southern England - the New Forest and South Downs. Moira represented Southern Water, West Sussex County Council and Chichester District Council during the planning procedures.

Housing: Moira Hankinson has worked on a full range of housing projects, including leading the landscape team acting for landowners and developers for a Strategic Development Location of 2500 dwellings.

Minerals and Waste: The Consultancy builds on 25 years experience of landscape aspects of minerals and waste management. This has included hard rock quarrying, sand and gravel extraction, landfill, phased restoration and after-uses.

Infrastructure: Landscape advice on roads, rail terminals, public rights of way, energy generation, such as wind farms and green infrastructure including public open space.
